Green Tea is the most popular form of tea in China and Japan, whereas in India black tea is more prevalent, as it is in the UK. The difference between green and black tea is down to the way the tea is processed. Green Tea is made without the withering and oxidation process used for black tea, resulting in a more delicate, lighter coloured tea, retaining more antioxidants.
Taylors Pure Green Tea is a smooth, elegant Chinese sencha green tea without a hint of bitterness. It is made in a unique way, the tender buds are dried with steam for a fresh, delicate flavour.
Exquisitely smooth Chinese Sencha green tea is also used along with the finest grade of peppermint leaf to make the second of Taylors Green Teas, the Green Tea with Mint. The combination of green tea and mint has always been magical and it makes a sweetly refreshing drink at any time of day.
China was the birthplace of jasmine teas and Taylors Green Tea with Jasmine is made with fine grade jasmine flowers sprinkled onto delicate green tea leaves in late spring. This is the traditional method which infuses them with lusciously sweet floral notes.
The last of the four green teas uses a fresh and mellow blend of green teas from Africa paired with the flavour of natural lemon. This makes a truly cleansing and refreshing tea, as the light delicate taste of green tea is a perfect partner for the zesty character of citrus. Taylors Green Tea with Lemon is best made – the same way as all the green teas – as follows:
Boil fresh water and leave to cool for a minute. Use one tea bag per person. Infuse for 1-2 minutes and then enjoy it just as it is.
We sell all four teas in packs of 20 individually wrapped and tagged tea bags, with the Pure Green Tea and the Green Tea with Jasmine available in packs of 100 as well. Each tea is made 100% from Rainforest Alliance Certified Farms and Taylors is also a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership.
